Sakshi Ganapathi Temple

Sakshi ganapathi The sacred srisailam is ancient and elaborate in its historical significance.The holy precinct is home to many scared temples. Ashrams,mutts,water bodies and picturesque beauty. This ia why it is believed that siddhis and the greatest devotees of Lord shiva travel from the himalayas down to srisailam to offer their prayers to mallikarjuna swamy. Srisailam Dam

The Srisailam Dam is constructed across the Krishna River in Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh and Nagarkurnool district, Telangana near Srisailam temple town and is the 2nd largest capacity working hydroelectric station in India.

The Srisailam project began in 1960, Initially only as a power project. After several delays, the main dam was finally completed twenty years later in 1980 July 26.In the meantime the project was converted into a multipurpose facility with a generating capacity of 770 megawatts (1,030,000 hp) by its second stage which was completed in 1987. The dam is to provide water for an estimated 2,000 square kilometres (770 sq mi). Under the right bank branch canal 790 square kilometres (310 sq mi) in Kurnool and Kadapa districts will have assured irrigation.

Hatakeshwaram

Hatakeswaram is an interesting visiting spot in Srisailam. 5 km away from the western side of Srisailam hills is HatakeswaraKshetram. Skanda Purana details this place beautifully. People of the region tell an interesting tale about Hatakeshwara. This tale signifies the importance of devotion and not an actual incident. Once upon a time, there lived a pottery artist named Keshappa in Srisailam. He used to arrange feasts and fruits for the travellers of that region. He used to consider feeding people as Shivarchana.

Octopus View Point

Octopus View Point is one of the latest additions to the tourist attractions in Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh. The view point is located 5 km before Domalpenta and offers amazing views of the adjoining forests, enchanting gorges and the mesmerising backwaters of Krishna River. Octopus View Point has been named so because of Krishna River down below that looks like an octopus spread between the hillocks. It provides a spectacular bird’s eye view of the entire valley below. Chatrapathi Sivaji Mandhir

Behind the Bhramarambha temple is this beautifully done temple and museum of Chatrapati Shivaji, a Maratha Warrior. As the Legend goes, Shivaji on one of his visits to Srisailam performed his prayer at the temple here when the Goddess appeared to bless him and bestowed him with a sword. As time passed by the temple structure needed renovation and Shivaji helped re-do it, which is when a gigantic statue of the warrior was installed by the people of the town accepting him as theirs. The temple and museum is functional on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday every week.
